The Plainest Reading of the Text Is That God Determined to Do Something

Moses interceded and God changed his mind. That seems to me the plainest reading of the text. I see that, as you said, not just here, but throughout the Bible. So there's a sense in which our response to God actually changes things. And somewhere in the middle is this greater mystery of how does human will and divine sovereignty interact with each other? It feels like we tend to fall on one side or another in error.
