How Many Slave's Were Freed?
In roman society, freedom, manumission, setting slaves free was not uncommon. It might be done because a master wanted to reward a slave for long service. At that point also, slaves could save up. And we see a lot of this happening through slaves going into business and making a lot of money. But there are still limitations put on them. Magistracies, they could hold, whatever it is - but you know, that did not happen in all societies.
