The Cut in the Edit, the Effect of the Cut Viper
I think we like to imagine just throwing lots of graphics and cuts at them is the feeling or like we call it retention editing, fast paced editing. Whereas I think the best example would be Colin Sameer's recent documentary where they followed Mr. Beast through the opening of his restaurant in New Jersey. That's slow paced, but had such great feelings in between those cuts that meant I was watching a slow paced 40 minute video. We swang in the wrong direction, I feel like. And so for me to try to repurpose or simplify the process, helping people rediscover storytelling and editing. It's what they do in traditional film. And it's what I'm trying to modern
