The Wrath of God in the New Testament
In the gospels, Jesus never talks about eternal torment. He doesn't talk about what we would think of as hell as a place where people will be tormented forever. The New Testament absolutely does believe in the wrath of God and does believe that God will judge people. But it doesn't go on about him torturing people. In Revelation, Christ is said to hate people, hate people. So it's not the view of the rest of the New Testament, I think.
