Is Aristotle Engaging in Philosophical Inquiry?
The worry is that we'd expect aristotle to be genuine, so to speak. I mean, to sort of recommend to us hereis a way of engaging an inquiry, and yet he goes off and does something else. And in fact, this is the point about worrying about the third premise. It's not obvious to me that what we have to do is accommodate what aristotle says about his method with what he does in the treatises.
