Introduction

William B. Allen was one of Steve Hayward's formative teachers in his graduate education more than 30 years ago now. Lately he is the visiting professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder and we sat down over a bottle of wine to talk about Bill's upbringing, how he became a conservative. We do get into a little bit of academic esoteric but some of those references go by kind of quickly here in the show so if they bore you I recommend just passing over them with the fast forward button.
