The Importance of Mechanical Tension in Strength Training

A lot of people get a bit too focused on like load and they're like, I don't know, uh, when I do a low bar squat, I'm using more weight versus like a high bar squat. And it doesn't mean you're getting more mechanical stress through the quads through a low bar just because there's no more weight. Your other muscles are taking over for the load that you're lifting. So as long as you're within a proximity to failure, that's kind of the key point for driving the mechanical tension.
