Fisher: Western consumerism, far from being intrinsically implicated in systemic global inequality, could itself solve systemic global inequality. He says it was believed that by participating in this kind of mass consumerist enterprise that things like world hunger could be eradicated. Fisher: Of course that doesn't get at the systemic problems that will just continue to reproduce world hunger.
