Anorexia and Narcissistic Relationships

Anorexia often discloses a family conflict that, because it cannot be made conscious, has become a symptom. A vicious circle is often inscribed into the family, with a tragic dynamic that is truly sad. Out of a fear of hurting the other, one's true feelings are hidden, making real emotional contact impossible or replacing it with pseudo-contact. As a consequence, they fail one another entirely, profoundly hurting each other in the end.
