What's the Best Word for Underwear?

Underwear is a gendered sexually charged word that only appears in female clothing. It's also weird because panties is something you would refer to like little girls underwear, not necessarily an adult woman's underwear But I think that age aspect gives it the extra touch Yeah, and it just makes me wonder how many ignorant guys out there are just like using this word.
