I think lean fits better with embedded compared to scrum, but scrums are nice, easy package to management. It's going to take you three or four projects to learn all your mistakes and by that time you're going to be fed up of it. If you try and do too much too early and that can come because you've got some new persons coming who's very experienced in C++, but none of the other team are.
