The History of Coffee in Vienna

Vienna had a long, rich tradition of coffee culture. The city was at war with the ottoman army when turkish invaders fled in 16 83. Polish soldier added some milk and sugar to the beans,. In doing so, he introduced coffee to vienna. Not long after, he opened the city's first coffee house. According to another account, the first coffee house in vienna was opened in 16 85. This trader was the only person in vienna with a license to sell coffee.
