How to Recompile Vim

Did you guys ever try to create like a Vim plugin and compile it into Vim using a different language or anything like that? No I mean I wrote a Vim script that you could load in just for managing how to automatically expand and contract the width of a buffer. Yeah I wrote actually a couple of small things using Python which happened to be already compiled into my Vim to do some text processing  that I didn't want to try to do in Vim proper or in Viml.
