Is Psilocybin a Viable Treatment for Substance Abuse Disorders?

I'm not for a moment suggesting the science is perfect today it's not but a lot of the methods have gotten better and so we are now reassessing a lot of these very basic claims that were made in the 50s and 60s like our psychedelics a viable treatment for substance abuse disorders. There's someone named Matthew Johnson at Johns Hopkins who just got a big grant to study psilocybin for treatment of smoking cessation or smoking addiction cigarette addiction. I think everyone assumes based on the preliminary work in that area that they're going to work quite wellbut that doesn't mean the work doesn't need to be done It needs to be evaluated in a larger patient group.
