A lot of these disputes are in smaller workplace suits, and so may not have been noticed. In the buses, we've had 46 pay disputes, and we've won the majority of those already. I think that's basically saying workers deserve to get more money in their pay packets. This is simple as that. But for the Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey... it was far from simple. Their fear was that high wages chasing the double-digit inflation figures would become a route through which inflation and interest rates would stay higher for longer for the government, businesses and households.
