The Impact of Private Equity Firms on the Average Citizen

One in five large companies acquired through leveraged buyouts called bankrupt in a decade. This is vastly more than the roughly 2% of comparable companies, not acquired by private equities that do so. Private equity ownership was responsible for an estimated 20,000 premature deaths in nursing homes. A lot of these now are getting into what may have been historically public service.
