Socialism as a Misnomer

This essay examines popular, that is to say, non-scholarly, non-academic, expositions and defenses of democratic socialism. Many who profess to be making a case for socialism are actually offering us little more than an up-to-date version of left liberalism or social democracy. We Own the Future contains many excellent ideas for social reform and regeneration but most hardly qualify as socialist.
