The causes of decay are pretty country specific. Rigidity in a system could vary from country to country. Even polarization might be different depending on where you are. Yet the decay of democracies, constitutional democracies, broadly speaking, is a phenomenon we're seeing in lots of different countries with pretty different circumstances over the last decade or so. Why this convergence among countries that are pretty different from each other?
