The Different Types of Play Behavior
Play behavior differs from the serious version of the activity. Young animals we see do a lot of play, and often they engage in predatory type behavior or anti-predator behavior before it could at all be adapted for them. Serge Pelis found that play fighting and rats is more similar to courtship behavior than it is to real fighting, adult fighting behavior.
