The Probability of Life Around a Red Dwarf

If a red dwarf is around longer, doesn't it make it more likely that it has or at some point in its history will have life than let's say our star? You're assuming that life is a certainty if you have a certain set of conditions, but maybe it's a probability thing for life to occur. I guess maybe I'm not quite sure I understand that argument. But what we're doing here is examining which assumptions could possibly explain this. What assumptions would we have to change in order to explain what we're seeing?
