The Unwritten Rules That Hold the Culture Back
Since her casting was announced, all of Argentina has turned against Madonna. Members of the Perinist Political Party don't want Madonna portraying their beloved Evita. In the film's climactic scene, Madonna wants to sing from the same balcony where real life Ava would stand and address her adoring public. President Carlos Menon, a Perinist, has been calling the film an outrage. He says Madonna is the embodiment of vulgarity.
