Simply saying make up is about individual choice trivializes the impact a multi billion dollar industry has on young women and men who feel like failures when they can't live up to our cultures expectations of beauty. We still wear make up because society still expects women to look a certain way and rewards them for doing so. It's got ardor the dominant beauty ideal has become global and inescapable. Due to social media, now it’s possible to correct your face, rather than just enhance it. Making the best of yourself has become a moral obligation. And i'll let you in o a little secret.
