The Importance of Being a Gay Man
When you see Magic Johnson announcing to the world, I can vividly recall that day. What was your feeling? Because we're going to be hitting that patch of time where AIDS just completely came in front of everybody's life. For my parents, it was really scary because when we had this discussion about being gay, that was what they were confronted with every day on the news. Like, oh, God, our son is going to be exposed to this thing that is running rampant in the gay community. Ironically, the person who just spoke, I was not getting contracted in another way. But it was certainly something that was deeply tied to the LGBTQ community.
