The Ironic Reader in Sherlock Holmes

The chapter talks about multiple types of readers of Sherlock Holmes. There's an ironic reader that knows that Sherlock Holmes is not true and yet acts as if it is right. Then the naive reader who's like yeah I just love Sherlock Holmes being immersed in Sherlock Holmes most like people writing into the magazines because the Sherlock stories are presented as John Watson's case notes. These are people who are clearlylike in on the joke or to put it a different way their Twitter reply guys who think that the best thing to do is to reply to your joke with like an elaboration of that joke but then there were also those who complete the punch line that you didn't write in for them.
