Wendell Sayers: I grew up in a very segregated society, which kept me always aware that I was different. If anything went wrong in the town, it was always I who did it. It's a lot of pressure. And gradually I discovered that I wasdifferent and I thought I was the only one in the world. He says he wanted to kill himself sexually when he was 15 years old. His father took him to a male clinic where they determined there was nothing they could do about it.
