The House of Commons - What's the Work?

This end of the building has been a place, historically, for representatives of the aristocracy and the church to make Britain's laws. It evolved from medieval times, when a council of abbots and bishops and noblemen would advise the king. The chamber that is best here is probably smaller than people think it is. Unlike the House of Commons, everything is red and the speaker counts it in the big gold chair at the top.
