Is It a Good Idea to Remove Mountain Tops?

If we are allowed to degrade the earth a little bit at a time by removing mountain tops now and drying up rivers next time, then eventually you have a world that isn't very worth living in. Our highest moral obligation has to be to deliver the capacity to live a complete, fulfilling human life to as many people as we can. That means not a liquidating the planet. It means a renewal process, which is the very definition of sustain ability. And it's inconsistent with a removing mountain tops.
