The Difference Between Stem Cells and Progenitor Cells
A stem cell can become anything in a progenitor cell goes down one particular lineage. A stem cell though has the capacity to keep renewing itself. The hemopoietic stem cell sits in the bone marrow. It is still a stem cell, but it's not regenerating anymore.
