The great mississippi flood of 19 27 took the lives of approximately five people, and displaced hundreds of thousands. The flooding stretched from illinois all the way down to louisiana. It ended up costing the feds about a third of their budget,. more than a trillion dollars in to day's terms. But then just ten years later, it flooded again.
