Is the Supercourse a Non-Starter?
The idea of the supercourse is a non-starter from the beginning. It's the notion of beginning with a question and a question that students are going to find important, intriguing, or in some cases just beautiful. And it invites them into an environment in which we will expect them to be able to engage in that question in a critical manner. They're given an opportunity to try, fail, receive feedback, and try again.
