Introduction
Pandora is one of a small number of characters in Greek myth who has come to be in regular usage, I guess I would say in English. Anyone who embarks on a course of action with negative reactions are described as opening Pandora's box or sometimes opening a Pandora's box. In ancient Greece animals were sacrificed and then people get to eat the good stuff which was lentils like bones and things that don't even sound edible to me. But this has always seemed odd to the Greeks that they got the good stuff and it turns out this was all subterfuge.
