Is the Church of Love a Sign of Great Intelligence?

At his trial, there were numerous people who testified that the letters froma these angels had kept them from depression. This prompted me to rethink my views about this very strange story. Is it possible that some elements of the church of love did play a salutary role? We should talk about a bias many of us hold against people we see as having engaged in self deception or having been conned.
