Cardano's Influence on the Doctor

Cardano was a great believer in maintaining and restoring health through careful regimen. He excoriated the doctors of his own day, for any departure from the advice given by Hippocrates. While confessing to lack of expertise in surgery, Cardano encourages the study of hands-on medical skills. Along with Ptolemy and Platonus, he named him as one of the three figures who were close to divinity in their level of insight.
