Is There a Mitocondrial Defect?

There are 15 hundred genes involved in mitocondrial function, whill only about 300 gens have been identified as having defects. So we anticipate that there will be many more new genetic defects that will be identified. There are mytocondrial panels that you can do for genetic testing, but you would only be able to see if the defect is in the known gens. But there are about 12 hundred that we don't know about. And some whole genum sequencing i'm seeing, is now including the mitochondrial gno - so i'm sure that's changing the game as well.
