The History of PG&E

A lot of PG&E's history has to do with the building of some of the first hydroelectric infrastructure in the country. The Sierra Nevada is so rich in hydropower, just a hugely vast and powerful river system that PG&E and its competitor, Great Western, did a lot to harness. As a result, some of the company's transmission lines are among the first in the nation.
