The Heavy Metal Elements Are Not Named After Lemmy
There was a petition to have a heavy metal element named after Lemmy of Motorhead once he passed. The rules regarding the naming of a new element say that its name must come from a mythological concept, a mineral or a place. This petition was inspired by the idea that an actual heavy metal element be named after Lemme. With atomic weights between 113 and 118, these new elements are the heaviest yet discovered. But they're not heavy metals in the way Lemme fans want them to be.
