The Deep is based on a Hugo-nominated song by the hip-hop group Clipping. It was actually commissioned by like this American life producer because they were doing a whole episode on Afro-Futurism. And that one, it was won the Lambda and was on shortlist for the Nebula Nebula and Hugo. Sorrowland is their more recent novel. It's Gothic fiction. They started at Sanford and got their MFA from University of Texas Austin.
