Manet and His Critics
I had this desire after motherhood, yeah, to write a book that nobody could say, there was no about about the book. And then I had an impulse to go back to this book that I love called Manet and his critics. It's a book that collects all the writing that was done about his paintings during the years that he exhibited in the Paris salons at the end of the 19th century. There's nothing shocking or strange or weird about them at all but to the critics at the time it's almost like they literally couldn't see them.
