PayPal - A Brief History
I started out at PayPal in early 2004 and as many people that come into one of those type of organizations had a very nebulous role. My job was to figure out how do payments work in Germany? What's an ELV? What does cash payments look like in Japan? And how do we make the experiences and digits as impossible as we're going to new geographies? So that spun into me leading what we call our payments as a service platform within PayPal. I then went over to Luxembourg of all places, where PayPal has its European headquarters. You know, as the payments lead out of Europe. It just happened to be that that overlapped with the PSD2 coming out.
