The Prophet Is God's Mouthpiece

In a biblical sense, especially from a jewish respective, the term prophet has very little to do with future predicting. The primary purpose of the prophet was to bring a message for that day. When we talk about a time period, i'm not talking about when it was written. What interests me as a bible teacher is where the voice of the prophet is supposed to be heard by the reader.
