Hurricane Season in the Gulf Coast
The strongest hurricanes that have hit the United States were all tropical storms three days before they made landfall. This is not an unprecedented event it's just that we've seen a lot of development of storms in the western part of the basin in the last few years. June 1 to November 30 captures about 95 percent of the activity and most of the big storms happen in August September October, he says.
