At the moment we've got about a thousand coal plants either planned or actively under construction around the world, mostly in emerging markets. Emerging markets developing countries often have a difficult balance between reducing poverty and tackling climate change. In fact, there's a plan to help developing countries cut coal. And a key example is a deal struck with South Africa.
