Daddy Issues in the LGBTQ+ Community

In the LGBTQ plus community, daddy issues is sometimes applied to gay men. A 2018 study found that women who grew up disappointed in their fathers are more likely to interpret interactions with men as sexual. Other studies have linked a daughter's poor relationship with fathers to higher instances of unplanned pregnancy and divorce.
