The Story of Lauretta Clayborne
Lauretta clayborne was born partially blind and intellectually challenged. Was unable to walk or talk until the age of four, and she wore dipers until aged 30. Her mother started making her run every day in a church hall practise with a group. By the time Loretta reached t tenth grade, the school system was experimenting with alternatives to classroom education. They called the programme school to work. The programe meant bussing from school to a workshop to do odd jobs. She hated taking the bus, so she ran to work instead. Running also became an outlet for her, a way to kind of get away from everything and all the things that were wrong with her.
