The Effects of an External Fire on Flight Attendants
The report says flight attendants were placed in an extraordinarily difficult position. The extent of the external fire and its effects would have been known to them at an early stage as with the discomfort and the alarm of the passengers, especially on the left hand side. Not much is known of their actions. This occurred very shortly after the commander's evacuation instruction or as a direct response to deteriorating conditions in the rear of the cabin. And I mentioned this very briefly in reading a bunch of text earlier. So the plane was still rolling right before it stopped. That rear right door did open. It could have been either a very rapid response to that command or for other reasons.
