I don't think that the people who are making these things actually believe in that they're in contact with the supernatural. That just strikes me as a really kind of, you know, obviously diabolically clever but quite clever work around. I wrote a short story a few years ago which toyed with the idea that the Internet was a sort of a portal for things to come through. And that was that was a bit of speculative fiction at the time but now I'm not sure that it will. It's a very, very strange thing that's going on.
