The Relationship Between the Psychic and the Unconscious in a Marriage

Young wrote about marriage once, in 19 25, as a psychological relationship. He formulated the marital di psychologically as a set up where one partner was the container and the other was contained. This unconscious merital arrangement of container and contained worked for a couple until a crisis or crises emer for either or both partners. It is from this unconscious state that consciousness and the chance for psychological relationship emerges. But there is no birth of consciousness without pain.
