The Ascension of Christ

St. Thomas has a beautiful ascension theology because Christ is still doing stuff, he says. He actually uses imagery from the old covenant on Yom Kippur once a year of the day of atonement. The high priest would go in to offer incense on the mercy seat and altar there. And so Christ goes in with our humanity to plead before God on our behalf. That's one of the main ways in which St. Thomas understands the ascension.
