The Supreme Court's Decision on Fraud
The fraud statute that's charged in this case is conspiracy to defraud the United States under a section of the penal code known as 371. There are cases from 1910 till about 1924, which expanded the concept of fraud and what the modern Supreme Court says it is: A deceptive scheme to build a victim out of money or property. The possibility that you just laid out will be more of a thing with respect to the obstruction counts than the other counts.
