The Death of Eli
The Ark of God was captured by the Philistines. The two sons of Eli, Hophne and Phineas were slain. A man ran from the battle line and came to Shiloh with earth upon his head. When he mentioned the Ark of God, Eli fell over backward from his seat and his neck was broken. His daughter-in-law gave birth to Ichabod when she heard about it.
